It just happens

It just happens

Not that I want to write poems

It just happens

Surges out of my bounds

Not that I choose my subject

It just evolves

Process itself surrounds

Not that I can read those minds

It just sprouts

Immerses me in those sounds

Not that i want to depict beauty

It just blossoms

Blooms like  delicate buds

Just like a whiff of fragrance in air

Or the flowing radiance in the hair

It just wraps  around my soul

Just like raising of pearls of droplets from a waterfall

Or descending of heavenly incandescence on moon day full

It just sweeps off my feet

Simply………….it just happens

For the love of cricket

img-20190325-wa0040-15549094942186829244.jpg

Let me confess am not a sporty person I think spending time watching a match or whole day in sun is waste of time better I could read a scientific publication or some academic theme. But today it turned out to be different when I went to witness a rather off beat, unique match of young Homoeopaths as well as budding homoeopaths I just loved the game .

It is TNHCL-Tamilnadu Homoeo cricket League where 8 teams fearured in image above battled it out to win the rolling IHMA trophy ,first of its kind organised by TN-IHMA (Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association) at SIVET college grounds on 24th of March 2019. Kanyakumari team-kumari Conquerers emerged as winners and Madurai Dons as runnersup.

Now I could all say is, love it or hate it we have to accept that cricket cannot be ignored by Indians. Its in our collective psyche now and am no exception.

Maybe live watching instead of on TV is refreshing or just the spirits and ambience, I don’t know. I liked the way both semifinal and final went on, quick fielding , brilliant six and clever fours were captivating. Boys shining in those moments of glory was really heartening. Being in there was just exhilarating. The running commentary laced with humour and those ‘in things’ of the boys made it more lively. It showed the emerging Comradery among teams .

Moreover ,my little angel got her birthday wishes from “doctor uncles”(she’s very proud to spell it and it matters to her) and Doctor ‘Annas’.

Getting nostalgic , as a young girl I used to  fight tooth and nail with my manipulative bro to get the batting or atleast bowling once in the game, which he and his friends always successfully eliminated us girls. We always left in fielding positions hoping till end that today we shall get lucky ; yet shooed away by an elder and game dissolved leaving me and my close buddy disappointed.

In school its another struggle just the same way my daughters are facing, its time to convince atleast three to four girls to play with me. Mostly its 3-4 disinterested girls loitering and waiting when bell will ring so that, my bowling as well as batting ends.

But in college days am no more mad about  the game, except Anil kumble nothing appealed to me in cricket .Poster of kumble draw  attention of all girls came to our room and I was proud of it. Though I followed closely in our dining hall with hostilities cheering India, it was just that fun not love for the game. We even shouted equivocally and prevented  girl entering dining hall, lest  it will lead to fall of a wicket on Indian side. When venkatesh prasad visited a neighborhood girls flocked to see him but me strongly kumble fan.

Now I don’t even follow IPL , just tell me who won and that’s enough of it.

Maybe I should also follow the game alongside my husband and my younger one who are glued to TV during matches India is playing.

Yes, now I know games are always charged positively, lift your spirits ; the process of getting things done is always liberating. So, guess we doctors who are under seize of compassion fatigue should indulge more in sports and games, so to be afloat and to help relieve our patients more energitically.

Driving in the wrong way ?

It’s eight months since I wrote this blog, my daughter happily joined Homoeopathic course of her own choice very first seat in no.1 Homeopathic college in TN after

rejecting Government seat in government college by first choice;

yet situations are similar as this academic year’s gladiators are fighting it out in 12th examinations turf , guess my writeup is still relevant.

Let me clear a point I hate to be judged so I hate judging others. So, my opinions are my own thoughts , monologue rather not about others choices.

Ever so, my child is in the altar of new life. She needs to get into college that too medical stream. She got only 90% yes ‘only’ and NEET is 305. Disappointing right?

We were in one of reputed Engineering deemed to be University campus for our kids counselling. Besides me sat a lady who told me her daughter has cleared JEE mains and cracked advanced JEE yet with 94% finding difficult to get into top colleges. Her’s is 184 and cutoff for that college is 186. I was shell shocked. Besides so much of high scores that girl must pay 4 to 5 laks per annum to get into her choice of Engineering stream moreover jobs are not guaranteed when she finishes. May have to work for 10 k to 20 k initially. I don’t even have to mention about the other boy whose JEE was 20, right? His mother was nagging him why he didn’t get good scores.

My god ! where are we Indians heading towards? At one end of spectrum our government gives mid day meals, sends social workers to bring in dropouts in school. At the other end we collectively undermine merit. We as parents all know how much efforts, stress , health problems due to this pressure our kids have gone through to get to this point. Yet we want more more more… Seventy percentage which once called as distinction now equal to 35%?

I see the same rush same sentiments running high which were flashback 25 years. Then my friends were through the same agony, struggles fought for same Engineering streams like vikings. MBBS students were so proud of their achievements of getting into that stream that they needed their professors scoldings to bring them down to earth. In fact we Homoeopathic students along side them in government Referral Hospitals were eye sore to.them as we worked hard to get into the groove.

Honestly, I don’t know whom to blame. Its not that kids are not aware of where to head. Most of them have choosen their own paths of course exceptions are there. In a government Engineering college cut off is 199 blink what cut off 199 ; 0.2 %will determine the fates.

Myself, took to Homoeopathy twenty five years back not by chance as most of my classmates announced. It was my only choice. No backups for me. Still I don’t know what I would have been if not a Homoeopath. Strangely, we told our kid concentrate on your potentials , gain knowledge but before exams focus on marks scoring ; anyway you will study Homoeopathy (it’s her dream as well not forced upon) so need not to get 97.9999%to get into it. Don’t stress much be in all extra curricular you can get hands on as you won’t get this experience again. Maybe we were wrong she may not have worked to her potential rather. Now though people say good scores we don’t know how to categorize.

Even in that reputed difficult to get in Engineering university she got her seat as she opted for a lateral stream Mtech integrated Nano Medicine. It was purely on merit, surprised right even we were.

So, Whether the mass needs introspection or our family driving in the opposite direction am still figuring out. Whom to blame or really we need to blame someone or its just individual perspectives , am not sure.

Will be Estranged or empowered?

When new avenues opened up as part of IHMA activities , life seems no longer the same inside ones own world.

There’s a nest high in the tree
birdie in green shade blissful n free
unaware of life outside and the sun
variety of opportunities and the fun

Perched on the tree top near its nest
birdie could think only of meal next
Gentle wind blew that’s always cool
In swirls which took away all the blues
destiny stoked a breeze of new wave
filled the avian with hope a path it gave

Flock of winged friends flying high and far away
Are exploring new Meadows and green-way
singing merrily are the birds thinking now
Should we go back to the cozy nest or how
Should be with happiness and cozy wanna stay
or have to vulnerabilities and for possibilities to sway

going round and round
making chirpy sound
should I fly up above high in the sun
or to go back to my Mellowing den ,
The bird is drowned in deepest thought
Back to home and get happiness it sought?

Will we join muggles?

Will we join muggles?

Let me confess, I am a Harry potter Fan not just as it’s a craze but I like those fascinating tales, interpolated plots as well as its semblance with our own Homoeo world. Yes the muggles have no Idea where we all flock together- learn and stick our heads into, they just imagine a small ‘well full’ of weird creatures but if they enter our world which is quite difficult; may not be able to comprehend our fascinating tales, exaltedness and how we can discuss about a legends lecture for months to come or a book of a legend celebrated for centuries after centuries relentlessly. Our groups are brainstorms and intricately detailed sessions only we can relish.

For example if I say I helped a lady to come out of clairvoyant dreams which scared her; what a sceptic will think? He has no opinion on clairvoyance altogether and on the top of it medicines curing it? It will be as good as Harry potter fighting black spirit in his city right? But now the whole scientific community is waking up to facts mentioned in Homoeopathic literature discovered from pure experience; most popular example could be psychosomatic illnesses and Psychologists are aware of mental apparatus; functioning of abstracts, hope it can be easier to understand in future.

They cannot comprehend how much we get excited while narrating our unique case histories and challenges we face like in a quidditch sport, surprises encountered and how a single mistake or over zeal can bring us to the ground with a thud or to say spoil our cases. But unpredictability and failures make us level headed, right?

Few muggles not just Allopaths but Scientists as well as intellectuals from different streams -who have entered accidentally could not move out of our world and stayed in and propagating it with full zeal. Their numbers are growing manifold in recent years. Few of our benefactors will be so enthusiastic it will be difficult to convince them for worldly procedures. They are delight and make us squirm at the same time. In fact if Allopaths in general stop backdoor prescriptions of ’Thuja for warts’ without realizing its potential and come down to accept that their regressive mindset of joining MBBS is an achievement (yes it was in student life and we acknowledged; it alone pushed us to study hard and answer questions of professors in Government Hospitals where we were posted together) and being stuck there. If they start referring patients to Homoeopaths, just like we do in difficult cases it will be great for all of us.

Now if NMC bill is allowed to be executed we will enter common households of millions right? Don’t know each time Homoeopaths should be telling we have studied for six years, we study allied subjects like anatomy; surgery, we also can do MD, yes we understand Laboratory reports and how to use them in our treatment prognosis, Still better (worse) Homoeopaths should not be forced to tell each passerby that they are allowed to use BP apparatus or other paraphernalia needed in treatment. But if Homoeopathic dispensaries are opened instead it will be lot more progressive and let referral Hospitals receive  cases referred by a trained Doctor from a PHC rather than horribly messed up non referral cases.

But we are closed group and are not pursuing conversions frantically. As our history of Homoeopathy in America suggests,” the overall state of public information, respecting the principles and practice of Homoeopathy, was becoming so defective that it was easy for mere pretenders to pass themselves off as qualified practitioners.  These “pretenders” to the art of Homoeopathy took advantage of the increasing popularity of homoeopathy and the concern was that they would discredit the Homoeopathic profession with their malpractice.” (1) Which is true even after nearly 150 years .

“As a way of coping with new guidelines (of saving Homoeopathic colleges in 1900 from Flexnor report in the USA) and in order to pass the new licensing exams that stressed the basic sciences, homeopathic colleges decided to offer more education on pathology, chemistry, physiology, and other medical sciences. Although they offered better education on these subjects, their homeopathic training suffered greatly.”(2)

But we Homoeopaths fear of, our own ‘not to be named’ or Voldemort types of adversaries more. External threats can be tackled what about inner enemies like; who do not execute an accurate observation of nature, are not careful in their experimentations and utilize pure experience unbiased or unprejudiced. As Hahnemann puts it ‘Mongrel sect or cross breed’, that are indolent, love for ease and obstinate are real threats.(3)

For true blue Homoeopaths who are living in the fantastic world of Homoeopathy, it’s not just a means to bread winning or a mere profession, it is purpose of their lives and time again they have borne torch of it and not just the patronage or popularity showered by the public which breathes life onto us. These people on an mission set to help fellow humans from diseases within their own restrains and limitations strive relentless for more knowledge, undertake laborious efforts to help in each individual (case) they handle , burn midnight oil for the curing prescriptions and accept their own shortcomings gracefully as they know what Homoeopathy is. If I say few of our pioneers died early due to worn out states it can give the outlook of efforts needed for Homoeopathy’s practice.(4)

Yes, who have discovered strengths of Homoeopathy know it’s like god for believers; mental resilience of non-believers, a force to reckon with which helps to push boundaries, which throws challenges in diverse ways; as ruthless as life; yet as gentle as mother(nature).

Homoeopaths who are qualified in colleges are ruling the roost today but we must never forget the contributions of ‘Hagrid’ like non-university qualified yet finest Homoeopaths who uplifted it to newer dimensions in the bygone century.

Welcome to our blissful world of saving lives and adding life to lives. If one understands the true essence of joy of smile with tears or value of satisfaction after great toil they will never stray away from principles. Do we need a Harry potter to save us or each true Homoeopath should turn one to save our legacy?

Hail Homoeopathy.

Treatment Procedures Classical Homoeopathy approach versus symptom oriented approach

drrekhasri

When it comes to treatments now sought for a condition unlike in olden days People are more open minded and seek all available help to treat it. This is very true in case of ASD considering not much interventions or improvement strategies are available naturally Onus falls on Alternative therapies.

But when we examine such procedures even not so well researched or documented ways also find a spot in those therapy courses.

Nonetheless when it comes to Homoeopathic Intervention unless the Parents follow Homoeopathy for a long period of time most of them treat it symptomatically, which is not very much encouraging as it may not provide long term benefits for Health.

Symptom based Homoeopathy drugs are obtained:

      Over the counter drugs.

      Patented products

      Online search engines delivered drugs

Another person passing on his prescription which has same diagnostic name.

      Friends with homoeopathy…
